Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko emphasizes that the danger of escalation from the aggressor is increasing, however Ukraine is ready for any scenario.

Poroshenko says he takes decisive steps to strengthen Ukrainian forces in Donbas.

Kyiv stands ready for any scenario of developments in Donbas, as he has taken some steps to build up the Ukrainian group of forces in the region, Poroshenko said.

“If this is to be associated with Russia's abrupt and provocative withdrawal from the Joint Center for Control and Coordination, with great difficulties we face in the liberation of hostages that are being illegally kept in the occupied territory, I can emphasize that the danger of the conflict escalation is, unfortunately, increasing,” the President noted in a meeting with the representatives of the initiative group “December 1” and other authoritative representatives of Ukrainian intellectuals.

The President noted that the situation on the frontline was complicated at the moment. According to him, last night, for the first time in many days, Ukrainian positions were shelled by the Grad Multiple Launch Rocket Systems.

At the same time, the Head of State is convinced of the power of the Ukrainian army rebuilt in a joint effort. The President said that he had taken decisive steps to strengthen the Ukrainian force in the Donbas. "We are ready to meet any scenario," the President said.

The Head of State stands for inviting the representatives of Germany and France to join the work of the JCCC. “Speaking of the restoration of the JCCC’s work, I think it will be useful to invite our partners from the Normandy format to join the process,” Petro Poroshenko said.

Earlier Kurt Volker noted that Russia had taken its officers from JCCC "right before" shelling in Donbas.
