Counterintelligence operatives of Ukraine’s SBU security service on Wednesday exposed the official of the Secretariat of the Ukrainian Cabinet of Minister who was working in the interests of the intelligence of Russia, the agency’s press service reported.

"Law enforcers found that the official had been recruited by Russian intelligence agencies during a long-term foreign trip. Operatives of the Security Service of Ukraine documented that the official followed the instructions of Russian supervisors and collected information about the activities of government agencies, using special equipment" reads the statement.

It is noted, the perpetrator used electronic communication channels to transfer data to his supervisors. "With the assistance of the Ukrainian Cabinet’s leadership, SBU operatives detained the agent of the Russian special services at his workplace," the report reads.

It is reported that the Security Service detained the Prime Minister’s interpreter Stanislav Yezhov. Yezhov accompanied Groysman in all international meetings and in all trips. It is also reported that earlier Yezhov worked in Ukrainian embassy in the U.S., and in the Presidential office.

A criminal case was opened against him on the suspicion of high treason.
