OSCE finds statement on increase of number of Russian observers incorrect

The OSCE SMM called the information of the representative of Ukraine in Trilateral Contact Group Iryna Gerashchenko incorrect. She claimed that the number of the observers from Russia and unfriendly countries significantly increased. The OSCE SMM reported this to Ukrainian Truth.

The observers from 44 countries work in OSCE SMM. Russia, as one of such countries, sent 35 observers (39 last year). The majority of the observers came from the countries of the EU (339 observers). Moreover, 373 local observers work in the mission’, the OSCE SMM claimed.

‘SMM urges everyone who comments or write about the mission to contact the SMM at first to establish all facts and prevent the reporting of the incorrect information or groundless statements’.

Iryna Gerashchenko noted that the number of Russians in the OSCE SMM increased twice during the last year and the representatives of the countries who are very close to Moscow take part in the mission and sometimes they do not notice the obvious attacks. Gerashchenko claimed on the increasing number of Serbians and Belarusians in the mission.
