In the framework of the working visit to Canada, President Petro Poroshenko held a meeting with members of the Canadian parliamentary group of friendship with Ukraine headed by Borys Wrzesnewskyj.

The President thanked for supporting Ukraine’s territorial integrity. “We count on your further participation in the development of the Ukraine-Canada strategic partnership,” Petro Poroshenko said.

The parties discussed the issue of improvement of economic cooperation and creation of the roadmap for the provision of the visa-free regime for Ukrainians.

They also discussed the intensification of sanctions against Russia.

In addition, efforts were coordinated to inform the world on the Stalinist Holodomor, which was a genocide of Ukrainians, as well as to spread the truth about Russian aggression against Ukraine.

Canadian deputies praised the decision of the President to establish the Consulate of Ukraine in Edmonton.
