President Petro Poroshenko signed a Decree on the appointment of Yehor Bozhok Chief of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine and introduced him to the staff. Since June 2015, Yehor Bozhok was an acting Head of Ukraine’s NATO mission.

“I have known Yehor Bozhok for a long time as a patriot, determined and professional person who has a vast experience of foreign work,” Petro Poroshenko said.

According to the President, the work of Yehor Bozhok in the NATO mission of Ukraine allowed coordinating the efforts of our international partners in support of Ukraine and increasing the defense capacity of our state significantly. He also noted that this activity has a special meaning for the protection of the national interests of Ukraine.

The President is confident that the appointment of the new Chief of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine will give a boost to the development of the Service. “The core of the success of all undertakings and achievements is a person, his or her patriotism, level of professionalism, state motivation and readiness for self-sacrifice in the name of the Ukrainian people, the Ukrainian state,” Petro Poroshenko emphasized.

The Head of State outlined strategic vectors of the Service’s development and interaction with the key partners. He also expressed confidence that the newly appointed chief would manage to increase the efficiency of the Service and its interaction with other security and defense departments.
