In south-western regions of Syria Dara`a, Quneitra, and Al-Suwayda a cease-fire agreed by Russia and the US started to work on Sunday, according to AFP.

"Such zones are a priority for the United States, and we're encouraged by the progress made to reach this agreement," HR McMaster said in a statement released Saturday.

He also said that the cease-fire decision is a priority for the USA.

"The United States remains committed to defeating ISIS, helping to end the conflict in Syria, reducing suffering, and enabling people to return to their homes. This agreement is an important step toward these common goals," he said.

On the first stages the ceasefire is to be supervised by Russian military police in coordination with the Jordanians and Americans.

As we reported earlier, during a G20 summit meeting Trump and Putin agreed on cease-fire in Syria.

It should be noted, though, that the US State Department called the agreement on this cease-fire an "intermediate step".
