Ukraine’s parliamentary committee to recommend lifting MP’s immunity

​The regulatory committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine found the accusations of the General Prosecutor’s Office together with the National Anti-Corruption Bureau against Boryslav Rozenblat groundless and shall recommend lifting his immunity and further investigation, the 112 Ukraine TV channel broadcasted the meeting.

The General Prosecutor’s Office together with the National Anti-Corruption Bureau submitted request to Verkovna Rada for consent on bringing to criminal responsibility, apprehension and arrest of people’s deputy Rozenblat, who is suspected of undue influence and bribery amounting to $280 thousand.

As we reported earlier, the Prosecutor’s Office demonstrated the video with evidences of illegal activity of Boryslav Rozenblat during today’s committee meeting.

As it was reported, the officers of National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) have detained the bodyguard of people’s deputy Boryslav Rozenblat on $200 thousand bribe. According to SAP, the bribe was intended for MPs Boryslav Rozenblat and Maksym Poliakov, they are denying it and calling the occurrence a "provocation".

Earlier this week, the Regulatory committee found groundless accusations against another Ukrainian MP Deidei of illicit enrichment.

Parliament’s Regulatory committee also found groundless the filing on lifting deputy’s immunity of Oles Dovhy.

The committee didn’t recommend lifting immunity from Andriy Lozovy either, a Ukrainian MP from the Radical Party of Oleh Lyashko, as well as from the сorrupt MP Polyakov retains his immunity in Parliament.
