Ukraine will initiate the negotiations on Free Trade Agreement with the United Kingdom after Brexit. This was announced by Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman during his visit to the country on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel.

“During the meeting, we touched upon the issues of deepening our economic cooperation. If we talk about the trade between our countries, it’s just over $ 2 billion a year, in fact the potential may be $ 3,5 billion, given that the UK has decided to withdraw from the EU, the so-called Brexit, we need to talk about new principles of our economic cooperation. I raised the issue and found support so we started consultations on approaches to establish a free trade area with the UK,” he said.

"We are now working with Turkey and Israel and within the frameworks of our cooperation with Great Britain, we believe that there is a great prospect and interest for our economies in the new mechanisms of cooperation," Groysman added.

As it was reported earlier Ukraine informed Canada about completion of FTA ratification. The Senate of Canada has yet to approve the documents for it to take force. The document will take effect when it is approved by the Senate of Canada and signed by the Governor General. It is expected to happen in May, according to the message.
