Germany's low-cost airlines Eurowings, which is part of the Lufthansa Group, will start flying to Kyiv's Boryspil airport from next year, according to the airport's director.

"With the permission of our partners from Lufthansa Group I'll share a little secret. From next year the low-cost carrier Eurowings (the Lufthansa group of companies) plans to start flights between Kyiv and Berlin with the further launch of flights to Dusseldorf," Boryspil Airport head Pavlo Riabikin wrote on Thursday evening.

Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelyan, in turn, announced the arrival of another low-cost airline.

"We keep our promises! Ryanair, Eurowings and one more low-cost airline announce this year their plans to fly to Ukraine," he wrote on Facebook.

The ministry earlier reported that airport fees for handling passengers by Boryspil Airport had been lowered. What is more, the ministry also introduced considerable discounts for all new flights to new airports.
