NATO opened a trust fund of 2 billion euros for the rehabilitation of the ATO soldiers. This was announced by the acting head of the Central Military Medical Directorate - Chief of the Medical Service of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Labunets at the briefing, reports Ukrainian News agency.

"NATO opened a trust fund for medical rehabilitation of servicemen with a budget of 2,25 billion euros to purchase the necessary modern expensive medical equipment, for training Ukrainian rehabilitation specialists and for the development of prosthetic centers," he said.

Since the beginning of the ATO with the support of NATO member countries, 287 Ukrainian servicemen have been rehabilitated and treated abroad, according to Labunets.

Mostly, Ukrainian military personnel were accepted by medical institutions of Germany, Estonia, Bulgaria and Lithuania.

With the support of the United States, Ukraine introduces the medical information system E-Health, which allows maintaining a database of soldiers wounded in the ATO zone and provides access to information about each wounded for employees of military and civilian medical institutions.

Earlier it was reported that Poroshenko promised to sign bill on Ukraine’s course to NATO membership. According to the president, the annexation of Crimea and the aggression in the east of Ukraine, carried out by a permanent member of the UN Security Council, made the post-war security mechanisms in the world ineffective.
