Volodymyr Groysman the Premier Minister of Ukraine within the official visit to Israel attended Yad Vashem the Memorial to the victims of the Holocaust in Jerusalem and honored the memory of the tragedy’s victims as the press service of the Government reports.

Groysman and his wife laid a wreath at the victim’s memorial, lighted the eternal flame and saw the exhibit of the memorial complex and Children’s memorial.

The Premier Minister emphasized that the memorial is the reminder of the horrible tragedy, in which more than 6 million people including 1.5 million children innocently died. There are 2, 5 thousand of Ukrainians who sacrificed their lives to save the Jews during the World War II.

He also reminded that Ukraine honored the 75th anniversary of the Babi Yar’s tragedy when more than 150 thousand of the Jews, Ukrainians and Romani died.

The Premier Minister also visited the memorial complex named after Theodor Herzl in Jerusalem. The national and military cemeteries are the places where the leaders of the country, eminent personalities and people, who sacrificed their lives for Israel, are buried.

Volodymyr Groysman will visit Israel till May 16. He already met the president of Ukraine.
