President, Kyiv, Minsk , Axis, Friendship, Peace

Ukraine-Belarus border was, is and will always be a border of friendship, good neighborliness and reliable partnership. A border of peace. And nobody will ever set Ukraine against Belarus. It was stated by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during the joint commemoration of Chornobyl accident with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.

“Today, an undeclared war is waged against Ukraine. We, Ukrainians, fight for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of our state. For liberation of Ukrainian Donbas and Crimea. We have once again buried thousands of casualties. Once again we have hundreds of thousands of IDPs whose misfortune is a direct aftermath of aggression against Ukraine. I am confident that we will together tame this demon as well,” Petro Poroshenko emphasized.

The Head of State noted: “It is extremely important for us that Ukraine-Belarus border was, is and will always be a border of friendship, good neighborliness and reliable partnership. A border of peace. And nobody will ever set Ukraine against Belarus”.

“I have been firmly reassured by the President of Belarus that no one will ever embroil Belarus in a war against Ukraine. Peaceful people of Belarus and an experienced and honorable President Alexander Lukashenko will not allow that,” the President said.

Petro Poroshenko emphasized that Ukraine highly appreciates friendship and cooperation with Belarus. “And Kyiv-Minsk line is an axis of good, friendship and peace,” he added.

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko noted that Ukrainians are well-aware of the position of the people of Belarus. “Peace, peace and only peace. Ukrainians have never been strangers for Belarusians. We are family. We can come to you on a tractor and help till the land if necessary. You help us and our countrymen help you. We will work for the sake of peace. We have no other goal,” the President of Belarus stressed.

Alexander Lukashenko assured of willingness of Belarus to do everything possible to achieve peace: “Ukrainian land is not a foreign land for me – here, between Kyiv and Chernihiv, are origins of my ancestors. We will follow the course of friendship of mutual cooperation. We will always live as good neighbors – neighbors are not chosen, they are given by God. So be sure that Belarusians were and will always be reliable friends,” he added.
