Ukraine's parliament has voted to authorize the resignation of head of the State Property Fund (SPF) Ihor Bilous.

Respective resolution No. 6354 was backed by 242 parliamentarians with the required minimum being 226.

Chairperson of the Rada's committee for economic policy Andriy Ivanchuk said: "Ihor Bilous has handed in a letter of resignation and the committee recommends the resolution [for his resignation] should be supported."

At the same time, the Rada did not appoint a new SPF head.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Bilous was appointed chairman of the State Property Fund of Ukraine on May 18, 2015. On April 10, 2017, he wrote on Facebook that he had tendered his resignation.

From March 2014 to March 2015, he was heading the State Fiscal Service (SFS) of Ukraine. He resigned after an investigation in the service's heads, which was initiated by the then Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk. The investigation proved that the SFS' fight against the shadow business had been ineffective.

In keeping with the Constitution of Ukraine, the SPF's head shall be appointed or dismissed by the Rada's consent.
