The National Bank of Ukraine has moved to raise the limit on the purchase of cash foreign currency by the population by 12.5 times, from UAH 12,000 to UAH 150,000, as reported on the regulator's website with a reference to the relevant resolution of the NBU Board.

"The National Bank continues to significantly relax restrictions on the sale of cash foreign currency to the population... Until now, the citizens had the opportunity to buy foreign currency in the equivalent of no more than UAH 12,000 per one person per day,” says the NBU.

“From now on, the National Bank raises this maximum amount to UAH 150,000, that is, up to the amount beyond which financial transactions with cash are subject to mandatory financial monitoring," the report reads.
