Bastion missile systems and Bereg artillery systems were deployed on the Black Sea coast during a testing of the Novorossiysk naval base, which involved more than 10 vessels and 100 pieces of equipment, announced Vyacheslav Trukhachev, head of the information support of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet.

According to Trukhachev, Bastion crews conducted simulated launches on surface targets. “Self-propelled Bereg artillery systems also moved forward in order to practice anti-amphibious actions,” Trukhachev reported.

Military vessels successfully carried out artillery and missile fire at surface and airborne targets, minesweepers practiced demining the fairways, and antisubmarine ships searched for enemy submarines to destroy.

According to Trukhachev, after a 150 km march, subdivisions of the coastal forces of the Novorossiysk base worked on tasks relating to repelling the attacks of an imaginary enemy, orientation on location, and firing all kinds of weapons.

The sudden test of the battle readiness of the Novorossiysk naval base was organized by the Southern Military District.
