The EU and certain Asian countries introduced temporary restrictions against Ukrainian poultry due to the highly pathogenic bird flu. State Service for Food Safety and Consumers Protection reported that on Thursday.

‘For information of local branches of State Consumers Service and poultry exporters: there are temporary restrictions of importing poultry and products of poultry breeding. The information concerns restrictions for exporting poultry and poultry products from Ukraine to Hong Kong, Yemen, the EU, Iraq, Jordan, China, Saudi Arabia and the UAE,’ the message says.

Previously, in December 2016, the EU banned imports of Ukrainian poultry due to the outbreak of bird flu; the ban was cancelled in late January 2017. Hong Kong also imposed similar ban on imports of Ukrainian eggs.
