Ukrainian MP Nadiya Savchenko believes that direct negotiations need to be held in order to release the POWs, as this will speed up the process. Savchenko announced that during her briefing broadcasted by the 112 Ukraine TV channel.

When she was asked about the level of negotiations she said:

“Poroshenko – Putin, and I will negotiate with Zakharchenko!”

She also commented on the announcement of the so-called “DNR” about their intention to visit their prisoners of war in Kyiv.

“They expressed such a desire, and I think that a person who didn’t kill our soldiers, didn’t hold weapons, there are a lot of such people there, and every day six thousands of them go to work and back, Such people have the right to meet them, if they have their family in prison. We live in the state of law,” she added.

As we reported earlier, Ukrainian Deputy of Verkhovna Rada Nadiya Savchenko and Volodymyr Ruban, the head of Ukrainian center for prisoners release, arrived at the penitentiary in Makiivka, where Ukrainian war prisoners are being kept. They came to the territory controlled by the self-proclaimed "DPR" to see Ukrainian prisoners of war.
