The OSCE has recorded 185 explosions caused by fire from tanks, mortars and artillery last week. The number of such cases during the previous week was 884. The OSCE SMM Deputy Head Alexander Hug stated this during the briefing.

"Last week was recorded a 20 percent decrease in the number of violations when compared with previous week. Reducing the level of violence was particularly noticeable, if you count the number of cases of shelling from weapons forbidden by Minsk Agreements, namely, tanks, mortars and artillery. Last week we recorded 185 explosions caused by fire from heavy weapons. The number of such cases previous week was 884. This gives us an 80 percent reduction", Hug claims.

He also added that "there is some de-escalation, but it can be deceptive”.

Hug also said that discussions are being held at the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna on capacity-building mission.
