Council believes that visa-free regime for Ukraine should be implemented simultaneously with the entry into force of the new mechanism of its cancellation.

Ambassadors of EU countries approved the beginning of the discussion of visa liberalization for Ukraine, 112 TV channel reported.

"The Council believes that the entry into force of the liberalization of the visa regime for Ukraine should take place simultaneously with the entry into force of the new mechanism for the abolition of visa-free regime", reads the statement of the EU Council.

The negotiations with the European Parliament will be initiated on this basis.

"By giving a green light today, the Council has demonstrated its commitment to the visa-free regime for citizens of Ukraine, taking into account that all the requirements have been met. The reforms are the right way, and should be encouraged. I am also pleased that our solution can send a positive signal to the eve of the EU-Ukraine summit on November 24", said the Chairman of the Committee of permanent representatives, Peter S. Javorcik.

The committee confirmed the Commission proposal to provide for visa-free travel for EU citizens when travelling to the territory of Ukraine and for citizens of this country when travelling to the EU, for a period of stay of 90 days in any 180-day period, a communique says.

Earlier Martin Schulz said European Parliament`s majority is ready to provide the visa-free regime for Ukrainians.

Also Poroshenko announced the final terms when Ukraine was going to get a visa-free regime.
