Minister of Defence of Ukraine General of the Army of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak held talks with Minister of Defence of Moldova Mr Anatol Salaru.

The heads of defence ministries discussed issues of cooperation between ministries of defence of Ukraine and Moldova and prospects of its development.

General Poltorak stressed Ukraine respected territorial integrity of Moldova and supported its intention to close Russian military base on its territory.

Earlier reported Ukraine is ready to open a "green corridor" for the withdrawal of Russian troops and armaments from the village of Colbasna in the self-proclaimed Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, or Transnistria, if a decision on the pullout has been taken.

Earlier reported multinational exercise of Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania and Canada Maple Arch 2016 kicks off in Ukraine.
