Defence Advanced Research Projects is interested in UOP successful experience in opposing Russia’s aggression

Management of the State Concern “UkrOboronProm” (UOP) and management of Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) held a working meeting.

It should be noted that DARPA representatives showed strong interest in experience – accumulated by UOP – in providing the country’s defence in terms of Crimea annexation and occupation of certain Donbas areas.

“Cooperation with such institution as DARPA is an important factor in obtaining a successful experience with technologies that are now at the forefront of scientific thought in defence of the country. DARPA and UOP are interested in mutually beneficial cooperation, that will contribute effective operating in opposition to Russian aggression”- said Roman Romanov, commenting the results of the meeting.

In addition, the Deputy Director of DARPA Steven H.Walker suggested that the State Concern “UkrOboronProm” participate in research, conducted by the Agency.

In turn, the head of the SC “UkrOboronProm” Roman Romanov brought to the focus the latest UOP developments – advanced unmanned complexes, including the tactical unmanned multipurpose vehicle “Phantom”, focusing on the issue of getting experience that DARPA obtained when developing similar weapons and other advanced systems.

UKROBORONPROM is developing within the frameworks of the strategy “Ukrainian shield,” focused on high-tech production, transition to international standards (NATO) and supplying the army with modern types of armaments. The State Concern extends cooperation with NATO and EU member countries, as defined by the strategic course of the state.
