Two Russian missile corvettes of the country's Black Sea Fleet have left their base in Sevastopol to reinforce Russia's group of warships in the Mediterranean, Reuters reported.
The warships, The Serpukhov and The Zelyony Dol which are equipped with Kalibr long-range cruise missiles, were due to reach the Mediterranean in the evening of October 5 , a spokesman for Russia's Black Sea Fleet said.
On Thursday Russian news agencies reported that one more Russian warship left its Crimean base and is heading to join a group of Russian warships in the Mediterranean.
The Mirazh, armed with Malakhit cruise missiles, was dispatched to the region as part of a "planned rotation" of Moscow's naval forces, according to Russia's defence ministry officials.
