From September 24 to October 4, about 40 cadets of National University Odesa Naval Academy onboard Smila and Sokal boats were undergoing maritime practice to gain practical experience and demonstrate the Ukrainian flag in foreign ports.

During training they docked in ports of Varna (Bulgaria) and Constanta (Romania).

“This successful exercise really proves due attitude to the training of future officers,” Vice Admiral Ihor Voronchenko, Commander of the Ukrainian Navy, stressed while meeting the cadets, “Even during our deployment in Crimea we had problems with such maritime practice of cadets. At least we have organized this exercise with docking in foreign ports over 7 years and after leaving temporarily occupied Crimea.”
