Ukrainian Ambassador to Canada Andriy Shevchenko has announced that the government of Canada set to ratify free trade agreement with Ukraine to its parliament for ratification

'The Canadian government has submitted the Canada-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement to Parliament for ratification. This has been done on the first day of Parliament's autumn session,' he wrote on Facebook, according to Unian.

In his words, the next step is the following: in 21 sitting days, the Canadian government is expected to submit draft bills for the implementation of the agreement.

'Now it is the Ukrainian government's and the Verkhovna Rada's turn. Let me greet everyone who has worked on the agreement and all who can make use of it,' the ambassador said.

The Canada-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement was signed by the government of Canada and Ukraine on July 11, 2016. This represents an important milestone in the Canada–Ukraine bilateral relationship and will create new opportunities for businesses in both countries.
