Ukraine’s Foreign Minister is in Germany with official visit
'Ceasefire in eastern Ukraine is repeatedly breached. So far, there has been not much of a positive to surely say there is progress in the settlement of Donbas conflict. The actual ceasefire held for 1-2 days. But now, there are more attacks, including those with the use of mortars. Over 20 attacks took place during the last night’, Klimkin said at the joint press conference with his German counterpart Frank-Walther Steinmeier. It took place within his visit to Germany on Thursday, 112.international reports.
Steinmeier assured that Ukraine can rely on his country’s support, adding that the conflicting sides should remember about the amnesty and the law about special status. 'We know there’s a lot of work to be done yet', he admitted.
German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier reiterated the need for a law on amnesty, the local elections and the special status of the occupied Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
'With regard to the implementation of the Minsk agreement, we also have to talk about the special status law, the local election law, and the amnesty law. We both know that a lot of work will be necessary to ultimately come together on this point,' Steinmeier said.
As reported earlier by 1492news.com, Germany calls on Ukraine and the Russia to refrain from further escalation of the situation.
