CIA concerned over sudden military checks in Russia
‘We saw messages about the Russian military conducting the ‘sudden’ drills. We hope that Russia will fulfill all respective commitments within acting agreements on armament control’, the Pentagon spokeswoman told the Russian news agency, 112.international reports.
According to her, the sudden checks of combat readiness often take place before the large-scale military actions in Russia – in particular, before the scheduled exercises ‘Caucasus 2016’.
Baldanza added that Pentagon has been monitoring the situation closely. ‘We’re deeply concerned over the increasing violence in eastern Ukraine and the proximity of Russian armed forces to Ukraine, taking into account Russia’s direct involvement in the Donbass conflict’, she said.
As reported earlier by 1492news.com, Putin orders surprise combat readiness check in Russian armed forces.
