Putin promises to encourage athletes not less than at Paralympics
Russia to organize own competitions after CAS expelled national team from Paralympics 2016. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Kremlin press service reports, according to 112.international.
'The decision to disqualify our Paralympians is out of right, morality and humanity. It is so cynical to take it out on those for whom sport has become the meaning of life, those who give hope and faith in their own strength to millions of people with disabilities by their example. I even feel sorry for those who make such decisions, because they cannot understand that it is humiliating them', Putin said.
'I want to say to our Paralympians: of course we will support you, and specially arrange competitions where you can show all your skills. We will encourage our winners the same as it would be at the end of the Paralympic Games', he said.
Putin also promised to improve the Russian anti-doping structures.
As reported earlier by 1492news.com, CAS refused to approve Russian athletes for participation in Paralympic Games.
