Crimean Tatars hold demonstration near Russian embassy in Kyiv

According to, Activists hold Crimean Tatar flags and banners with ‘Where is Ervin?’ hashtag. They say their goal is to turn the society’s attention to the ongoing kidnappings in the Russian-annexed Crimea.

Ervin Ibrahimov, Crimean Tatar activist, disappeared in Crimea on the night of May 25, 2016; soon after that, the video of him being kidnapped emerged in the Web. His comrades believe the Kremlin could be behind this. Ibrahimov is one of the dozen of Crimean Tatars who have gone missing since March 2014.

The action takes place near the Russian embassy in Kyiv; the protesters demand that Russia finds out the whereabouts of the people who have disappeared since the occupation of the peninsula in spring 2014. They also ask the Ukrainian government to commence respective criminal cases so that these materials could be used in international courts.'
