According to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman, the terrorist attack in Nice is linked to events in the Donbass.

He mentioned this when laying flowers to the building of the French embassy in Kiev.

'This is a challenge we all have to fight. Everything is closely connected: the east of Ukraine, Volnovakha, and the events in France and today's terrorist attack. This is a great tragedy. Our condolences,' Groysman said.

On the evening before, a driver of a truck rammed a crowd of people who had gathered on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice to watch fireworks on the occasion of Bastille Day. According to eyewitnesses, the truck did not stop. It was going in zigzags and running over the people along almost two kilometers of the quay. The attacker also opened fire. He was shot dead by police. 84 people became the victims of the attack.
