German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Francois Hollande and Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the situation in a zone of an antiterrorist operation in the Donbass.

The parties are to intensify efforts to resolve the conflict by diplomatic means.

According to the Kremlin’s press service, Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Francois Hollande and Angela Merkel.

Putin believes that the conflict in the Donbass should be solved by political and diplomatic means, which should be based on the Minsk agreements. The parties are to intensify the negotiations in the Normandy format and through the Contact Group.

Russia is a direct participant of the conflict in the Donbass. It trains the LDPR’s terrorists and has deployed its own armed forces in the sovereign territory of Ukraine. However, the Russian Federation doesn’t recognize its participation in the conflict, despite the fact that the whole world considers it to be true.
