NATO starts exercises in Black Sea

According to the program of 2016, NATO members have announced the start of their exercises in the Black Sea. The skills of interaction among ships will be mastered during the exercises. The aim of this training program is to improve European security and defense.

The alliance has started its military exercises in the international waters of the Black Sea and in the territorial waters of Bulgaria. NATO members and participants of the Partnership for Peace program will take part in these exercises, 1492news russian service reports. 

Romanian Naval Forces report that their ships are included in the alliance’s forces. Servicemen are to practice in the skills of interaction among the crews of similar ships.

The Romanian frigate Regina Maria left Constanta on July 10 and went to the area of the exercises, which are to last up to July 17. The exercises will involve marine dredges and missile ships.

In total, 50 military vessels from 18 NATO members and more than 4,000 people will take part in the program.

According to the NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, the North Atlantic Alliance is going to increase its spending up to $ 3 bln in 2016.
