The US has imposed personal sanctions against the DPRK’s leader Kim Jong-un and his ten high-ranking officials.

The decision was made by Washington due to 'the outrageous violations of human rights' of the North Korean regime.

The 'black list' of the US Treasury Department also includes five legal entities.

'Millions of North Koreans still suffer from intolerable cruelty and severe deprivations under the rule of Kim Jong-un. They are subjected to extrajudicial executions, forced labor and tortures,' the acting deputy of the US Secretary of Treasury for the Counter-Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Adam Shubin said.

As reported earlier by, US State Department welcomes EU's decision to continue the sanctions imposed in response to the Crimea annexation.
