The updated uniform for the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be shown on August 24.

On July 5, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko approved the document 'On uniforms and insignia of the Armed Forces of Ukraine" that will remove the Soviet five-pointed stars from Ukrainian militaries’ shoulder boards.

This was reported by the presidential adviser Yuriy Biryukov in Facebook.

The new uniforms and insignia will be presented on August 24, during the Independence Day.

Earlier, Poroshenko promised to introduce some new ranks like khorunzhyi and brigadier general. The first of them will stand for the junior officer instead of a second lieutenant, while the latter will be the junior rank of a general.

As reported earlier by 1492news.com, Petro Poroshenko emphasizes the necessity of developing the Naval Forces of Ukraine along with the Land and Air Forces.
