On July 3, the border guards of Kharkiv detachment and Fiscal Service detained a Russian citizen who tried to take antiques out of Ukraine.

According to the press service of the State Border Service, the Russian was detained at the night of Sunday at the checkpoint of Pletenevka in Kharkiv region.

The border guards checked the Renault that was used by the Russian to cross the border. The State Border Service found the period pieces, which he illegally tried to take out of Ukraine. It is known that in general the border guards found 11 items of antiques, including a lamp, an hourglass, some elements of a samovar, a trumpet, and others. All these items were seized by the State Border Service officers as evidence. The Fiscal Service will make an assessment after the careful examination of the things.

The press service reported that a citizen of Ukraine tried to smuggle about 160 wristwatches into the country at the same checkpoint of Pletenevka on July 3. All of them are replicas of famous brands. The approximate cost of the items is 20,000 UAH.
