The President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan commented on his letter to the head of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, where he apologized to the relatives of the Su-24’s killed pilot.
According to the president, this step should help to overcome the negative shadows in the relationship between the two countries and 'immediately establish' connections.
'I believe that we can quickly resolve our relations with Russia, putting an end to the current situation that doesn’t respond to the interests of our countries,' Erdogan said.
'We have taken steps to remove the negative notes from our relations. I’m sure that the letter I sent to restore relations with Russia will be good for both countries,' the president said.
