The district court of Starokonstantinovka in Khmelnitsky region found former major from the Ukrainian Air Force guilty of a high treason. The pilot was sentenced to 12 years in jail.
The investigation proved that the pilot intentionally had been collecting and sharing secret information to the representatives of the Russian Federation, namely all the information about the flight of a military reconnaissance aircraft. This let the foreign country plan counter-actions and reduced the special mission’s effectiveness.
'While conducting the special flight, the traitor refused to follow a legal requirement of the crew’s navigator on the aircraft’s moving towards the planned course and deviated from the route,' the General Prosecutor of Ukraine said. 'He violated the regime of silence, tried to establish contact with unknown persons and moved a plane to the border with the Russian Federation.'
As a result, the court found the military pilot guilty of treason and sentenced to 12 years in jail with deprivation of his military rank.
The former head of the Security Service of Ukraine Major-General Aleksandr Tretiak openly joined the so-called DPR and told about this in a special video conference reading the text from a prompter.
