Russia has returned the Magach-3 tank to Israel. The vehicle was captured by the Syrians during a Lebanon war in 1982. However, it became known that the Israelis had received the wrong combat vehicle.

Three Israeli soldiers were lost during the battle in Lebanon in 1982. Their bodies haven’t been found yet. During the collision the Syrians captured the Magach-3 tank, which eventually turned out to be in a Russian Museum.

This spring Putin ordered to return the tank to Israel. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described Russia’s decision as a humanitarian gesture.

'The families of Zechariah Baumel, Zvi Feldman and Yehudah Katz still don’t know anything about their sons, don’t know where their graves are. This tank is the only evidence of the battle,' Israeli official said.

But the Russian Federation returned the wrong tank. According to Danny Kriaf, Israeli retired officer, the tank has another serial number.

'It's just a big PR campaign,' Kriaf said.
