On June 22, the US Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland met the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. The main topics for discussion of the two politicians were implementation of the Minsk agreements and reforms in Ukraine.
During Nuland’s visit, the heads of the National Security Council Celeste Volender and Charles Kupchan met the Verkhovna Rada’s Speaker BP Andriy Parubiy and the presidential administration’s deputy head Konstantin Eliseev.
They also held a meeting with the Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin.
The parties discussed the implementation of the Minsk agreements and approved a package of important reforms for Ukraine.
The US party also discussed an issue of safety in the context of the implementation of the Minsk agreements and stressed that anti-Russian sanctions should remain in force until the full implementation of the Minsk agreements.
