This happens because of law enforcers’ lack of motivation, equipment and integrity.
The head of the National Police Khatia Dekanoidze claims that they still haven’t been able to get rid of police corruption.
'Unfortunately, I should admit that we still cannot eradicate all the corruption components. First of all this is because of motivation that our cops simply do not possess. Secondly, it’s because of technical equipment: no police officer feels himself worthy; there are no uniforms, no cars and so on. Thirdly, there is no integrity in the judicial system that is necessary to understand that everyone started with an ordinary employee and experienced great mental transformation. Yes, we are working in a new way. And working in a new way means that not only the police but the entire law enforcement system should work in a new way,' Dekanoidze said.
According to Dekanoidze, the public trust in the police remains high.
'The trust in the National Police of Ukraine is about 48%. When else have we had the trust in police to be 50%? Never. Trust in militia was about 5-6%. The people now trust in us. But I am aware and our entire team is aware of the fact that we have to justify this trust when everyone understands that the policeman is a man in a uniform who protect and justify their hopes,' she said.
As reported earlier by 1492news.com, Savchenko said: 'I'm still the most ideal politician in Ukraine and have the greatest chance to win presidential elections.'
