The meeting was to be held on June 22 during a visit of the Assistant Secretary of State to Kyiv. However, Poroshenko won’t meet her although the event has been previously scheduled.
Nuland will meet with a representative of the presidential administration instead Poroshenko. Most likely, this’ll be the administration’s deputy head Konstantin Eliseev, who deals with international policy. However, according to some sources Nuland will meet the Verkhovna Rada’s Speaker Andriy Parubiy.
Nuland won’t talk to the Verkhovna Rada’s factions and representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. Nuland isn’t going to communicate with the representatives of the Ukrainian mass media, but they expect her statement on the visit.
Nuland is to discuss implementation of the Minsk agreements during her visit to Kiev and Moscow. First, she will visit Ukraine, and then Moscow. She will meet Russian presidential aide Vladislav Surkov.
The parties are going to discuss the settlement of the armed conflict in the east of Ukraine. If they manage to arrange the schedule, the leaders of the Normandy format will meet on July 8-9.
