President Vladimir Putin spoke to deputies at a meeting of the Russian State Duma.

Speaking to the deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin described the current convocation’s work on the integration of Crimea and Sevastopol as a historic achievement. According to the Russian president, the legal integration took place in the shortest possible terms and with the great support of the legislative body’s deputies and the majority of Russian citizens. Moreover, Vladimir Putin mentioned the legal support during the Crimean historical referendum. He said that there were a lot of people who were eager to become a part of Russia, but still not all the residents of Crimea and Sevastopol. The deputies helped the vast majority and that resulted in the integration.

'You adopted more than 120 laws in the shortest terms and they minimized the problems of Crimea and Sevastopol’s joining Russia. They let people get through the difficulties of the transition... feel that they are at home, that their rights are protected, that the new opportunities are opened to them,' Putin mentioned in his speech.

He also believes that Russian voters can be proud of their choices, because they have done great work.
