The Verkhovna Rada’s deputy and former member of the Opposition bloc Evgeniy Muraev believes that the conflict in the Donbass is just a civil war, and Russia hasn’t occupied any certain part of Ukraine.
The people's deputy believes that there are no Russian troops in the Donbass and Russia doesn’t lead a war in the conflict zone, it only supports the DNR and LNR in solidarity. At the same time, Muraev can see not the aggressor’s regular troops in the Donbass, but American soldiers who allegedly have been fighting on Ukraine’s side since the very start of the armed conflict and liberated Mariupol themselves.
'I believe that there is a civil war in the country. The USA help Ukraine’s authorities and Russia helps the unrecognized republics of the Donbass. If both sides consist of 50,000 people with Ukrainian passports, if the war takes place only on the territory of Ukraine, it is civil war.'
In addition, the people’s deputy refuses to recognize Russia’s annexation of Crimea and considers the world’s position that has refused to accept it as a part of Russia, as an error.
'Crimea was surrendered by the current coalition in the Verkhovna Rada, and namely – by the commander-in-chief Oleksandr Turchynov,' he said.
