Russian Tu-22M3 seriously damaged after unsuccessful landing

On June 16, 2016, Russian long-range bomber Tu-22M3 (hull No '10 krasnyi', registration No RF-94146, serial No 10905) drove away from a runway while landing at the airport of Ostrov (Pskov region).

The plane destroyed the chassis but the crew wasn’t seriously injured.

It is reported that the plane’s landing gear broke during its landing. It resulted in its leaving the runway. Any details of the incident haven’t been disclosed. It’s known that the Russian Aerospace Forces’ group has arrived to the scene.

The bomber is included in the aviation group of the 6950-th air base of Russian long range aviation’s command. It’s based on the airport of Shaykovka (Kaluga region).

The Tu-22M3 with the hull No '10 krasnyi' and the registration No RF-94146 has just undergone repair and upgrade at Kazan Aviation Plant named after S.P. Gorbunov.
