He intends to listen to reports on implementation of plans for construction of military infrastructure on occupied peninsula.

Russia’s Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu arrived to occupied Crimea on Thursday during his working trip to the troops of the Southern Military District.

'During the trip, the head of the Russian Defense Ministry is to hear the commanders’ report on the implementation of plans for the construction of military infrastructure,' official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry Major-General Igor Konashenkov told reporters on Thursday.

Russia occupied Ukrainian Crimea in March 2014 and Western countries introduced anti-Russian economic sanctions.
