Ukraine will get support from NATO members in the nearest future. This measure was coordinated by the Defence Ministers of Western European states due to Russia's recent actions.
On June 15, Brussels has hosted a meeting of the NATO Committee, where it was decided to provide Ukraine with consultations and various forms of support. This was reported by the alliance’s Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg during the final press conference.
He stressed that Russia's actions in eastern Ukraine still cause outrage in the international community. NATO is outraged with Russia’s attempts to change the sovereign borders of Ukraine and urges Russian authorities to fulfill the Minsk agreements. The fact that Russia ignores all the demands to withdraw its troops and equipment from the borders of Ukraine, makes NATO members provide Ukraine with more and more support and assistance. According to Stoltenberg, it will affect the spheres of command, cyber security and rehabilitation of the wounded. They started to develop projects on anti-hybrid wars too.
Earlier, the parties signed an agreement to provide NATO’s military support for Ukraine. It will let Kyiv give up Russia’s defense industry.
According to the Secretary General of NATO, Ukraine has taken important steps to reform its army and it’s not an easy task during the war. NATO is to discuss these issues with the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko at the summit of NATO in Warsaw.
