Situation Update, east of Ukraine as of June 10, 2016. June 10. DONBAS — According to the press centre of the ‘anti-terror’ operation, over the past 24 hours the enemy has violated the ceasefire for 46 times.

The enemy attacked the Ukrainian positions near Stanytsya Luhanska, Bohuslavske, and Stepne with grenade launchers.

The illegal armed formations fired small arms, grenade launchers on the ATO positions near Zaitseve, Mayorsk, Luhanske, Verkhniotoretske, and Novoselivka, mortars on the ATO positions near Nevelske, Avdiivka, Troitske.

Militants shelled the Ukrainian army positions near Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Taramchuk, Pavlopol and Shyrokyne with small arms, machineguns, near Novotroitske with mortars and 152 mm artillery.

From the beginning of March 2014, demonstrations by pro-Russian and anti-government groups took place in the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts of Ukraine, together commonly called the 'Donbass', in the aftermath of the 2014 Ukrainian revolution and the Euromaidan movement.

These demonstrations, which followed the annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation, and which were part of a wider group of concurrent pro-Russian protests across southern and eastern Ukraine, escalated into an armed conflict between the separatist forces of the self-declared Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, and the Ukrainian government.
