Here’s political commentator Pavel Kazarin’s point of view: 'I have read Savchenko’s stenographic record. And I believe that her words often are quoted out of context...

In her speech she mentioned that the Constitution should not be changed during the war. She said that there is the only one President in the country and this is Petro Poroshenko. And it’s not appropriate for him to hold negotiations with Zakharchenko or Plotnitskiy. According to her, the genocide similar to the model Russia followed in Chechnya, is not proper for Ukrainian side in the Donbass and at some point, when the territory are back, they will have to forgive and to find a political solution. She said that the Minsk agreements had stopped the massacre, but they cannot stop the war. However, they are useful at the moment.

And she said that it’s not necessary for the official leadership at the presidential level to sit at the negotiating table with Zakharchenko and Plotnitskiy. She would speak to Zakharchenko and Plotnitskiy if this helped to ease the fate of Ukrainian prisoners...

In my opinion, it is worth reading the primary sources to understand what she meant.'
