Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has criticized the work of the Verkhovna Rada and the populism of some political forces. He mentioned this during the Cabinet’s meeting on Wednesday.
'I’d like to draw your attention to some facts. Those who were in the deputy corps… they can understand what actually is going on when they see what is going on in the Parliament and what we can see actually. Let’s see how the populists voted, how many votes this or that faction gave. You’ll see that they have voted just in order to say 'See! Our faction has voted too!', and in fact they didn’t want to vote for this decision and blocked it. They speak from the rostrum saying that they like the Ukrainians and are eager to give them all the opportunities. But on other hand, they pull out the cards when it’s necessary to make decisions. It's sort of a policy of double, triple standards. Moreover, they use the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada to discredit everything. It’s cheating, but they do had a lot of practice,' the prime minister said.
Groysman’s speech has relation to the Rada’s adoption of the bill on simplification of registration of medicines from the EU and a number of other countries. According to the prime minister, they tried to block the decision.
The Verkhovna Rada changed the Article 9 of the law "On Medicines' in order to simplify the procedure of state registration (re-registration) of medicinal products.
In particular, according to the new law all the medicines which are registered in Ukraine, have got a reduced period of their registration. Now it lasts 10 working day (instead of a month.)
Moreover, the law lets to register the medicines in a simplified way if they are registered by the competent authorities of the USA, Switzerland, Japan, Australia, Canada and the EU for use in the territory of those countries or states.
In 2014, the Cabinet of Arseniy Yatsenyuk offered the Rada to simplify the registration of medicines licensed in the EU, US, Canada, Australia and Japan, up to 5 working days. However, the draft wasn’t taken under consideration.
