The Head of State conveyed greetings from U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden and President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz to Nadiya Savchenko. The President emphasized that rallies in support of liberation of the Ukrainian captive in the United States and the European countries had played a significant role.
The President expressed gratitude to the released pilot for a clear public support for the Minsk agreements noting that it was a statehood position. Nadiya Savchenko told that she had been carefully monitoring the negotiations in Minsk in February 2015: 'I am grateful that you have achieved that' - reported by president.gov.ua.
The Head of State has discussed the Savchenko-Sentsov sanction list with the Ukrainian pilot and coordinated joint actions on the liberation of Ukrainian captives.
'We are in an active phase of liberation of our hostages. We have no right to stop. We are obliged to intensify our efforts,' Petro Poroshenko said.
The parties have also discussed the representation of Ukraine in the PACE and European Parliament.
'I am ready to work. My desire depends on the desire of Ukraine. I am ready to work anywhere,' Nadiya Savchenko noted. The President suggests that Nadiya visits several European countries and have meetings with European leaders.
Petro Poroshenko and Nadiya Savchenko have discussed the situation on the frontline, particularly its aggravation and death of battalion commander of the 72nd brigade Andriy Zhuk.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Kostiantyn Yelisieiev and Press Secretary of the President of Ukraine Svyatoslav Tsegolko.
