On May 24, Commissioner Gil Kerlikowske, of the United States Customs and Border Protection, visited the State Border Guard facilities in Bortnychi, home to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine 10th Mobile Detachment.
U.S. Embassy Kyiv Ukraine shared on Facebook:
'The 10th Mobile detachment which houses the most well equipped and trained mobile unit in Ukraine displayed their abilities with several demonstrations and a tour of their technology and equipment. The Commissioner was shown items such as armored vehicles, thermal cameras, and ground radar platforms, all-terrain vehicles, and radiation detectors to name only a few. These items, purchased and donated by INL for the 10th Mobile detachment in conjunction with the demonstrations, show the positive effects directly resulting from the efforts and cooperation of INL/CBP.'
The 10th Mobile is an area in which INL/CBP have and will continue to have the ability to assist State Border Guard Service in developing, equipping and training in order to strengthen the borders of Ukraine.
